Christopher Andrews

Chris was born in Reed City Michigan in 1951 and raised in Rochester, Michigan. While attending high school he illustrated for magazines and newspapers in Detroit. and was awarded a scholarship to the Columbus College of Art and Design. While attending C.C.A.D. Chris won many awards for Illustration and design excellence.


Chris received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Columbus College of Art and Design, in 1974 and moved to Tucson, Arizona, where he continued his illustration and painting career. Chris’ “Native American Series” and the “Mystery Woman Series” were very well received by critics and the public. Wanting to get closer to the recording and publishing industry, Chris moved to Los Angeles in 1976, where he illustrated for many of the major Record companies and book publishers in the U.S., while also having several showings of his paintings of Native Americans.


In Los Angeles Chris worked on several animated films such as “Lord of the Rings” (Ralph Bakshi Productions), and “Tron” for (Walt Disney Productions). Longing for the desert Chris relocated back to Tucson and continued to Illustrate for magazines while also expanding his fine art career. Chris’ ability to realistically render landscapes and animals on a grande scale, led him to contracts with the International Wildlife Museum, the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum and the Larson Company, his murals can also be seen on all the Roses and More buildings, Ha Long Bay Restaurant, The T-Rex Museum, Son’s Bakery Cafe’, Home Expressions, Santa Monica Church, and Saint Augustines Church as well as various private homes.


Paintings of marine life, particularly dolphins , have denoted him as one of the finest wildlife artists in the country, his vivid paintings of Native American Spirituality has placed him well above convention. Chris’ paintings have been exhibited in galleries in Los Angeles, Tucson, Scottsdale, Oregon, Las Vegas and Columbus, and his work resides in numerous private collections in the United States and Europe.
